Academic Cooperation Meeting Between RAO University and University of Nanterre, France

On February 3, 2026, in line with the strategy to develop scientific and international cooperation, an academic cooperation meeting was held between the Vice Presidency for International Affairs and Academic Partnerships of #RAO_University (#Afghanistan_Roshin_University) and the University of Nanterre’s Universities in Exile program, with the participation of Mr. Loïc Tourniaire, Project Officer for Universities in Exile, and Mr. Sacha Ouardes, Coordinator, at the Nanterre campus.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Gulib Mir Rahmany, Vice President for International Affairs and Academic Partnerships at RAO University, and Professor Pascale Laborier, faculty member and head of the Universities in Exile program at Nanterre, along with a group of colleagues from both sides.

At the beginning of the session, Dr. Rahmany introduced the organizational structure, academic mission, and strategic vision of RAO University, emphasizing the university’s central role in sustaining higher education for Afghan women and girls, especially under structural constraints.

During the meeting, the following strategic proposals were discussed to strengthen, consolidate, and sustainably develop RAO University:

🟩 Expansion of the French Language and Literature Department by leveraging academic and educational resources from French universities;
🟩 Scientific and legal support in the process of registration, accreditation, and international recognition of the university and its degrees;
🟩 Establishment of a physical RAO University representative office in France to facilitate academic and administrative interactions;
🟩 Expansion of faculty and student participation in scholarships, fellowships, and international research programs;
🟩 Providing opportunities for the university to participate in conferences and reputable scientific forums in France to showcase its academic and educational achievements.

The meeting concluded positively, with both parties emphasizing the need for sustained support for higher education for Afghan women and the development of effective and targeted academic cooperation.
