On May 27, 2025, the Executive Board of Roshan Afghanistan University convened a formal meeting to address recent institutional developments, most notably the university’s successful admission into the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) — an international association of French-speaking higher education institutions. The meeting was chaired by Farhad Arianfar, Chancellor of the University.
At the outset, Farhad Arianfar and Mr. Meraj Sharifi, the university’s official representative to AUF, delivered a detailed report on the admission process and the strategic value of this new membership. Dr. Arianfar highlighted that this accomplishment was the result of sustained engagement with international academic networks and emphasized its role in fostering global partnerships and academic exchange.
Following this, Dr. Azadeh Elahi (Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs) and Dr. Gulab Mir Rahmany (Vice-Chancellor for International Relations) presented updates on their respective departments, underscoring ongoing initiatives and future strategies for improving student support services and expanding international collaborations.
Further contributions were made by Dr. Nazanin Khalilpour (Acting Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs), Dr. Vida Namdari (Dean of the Faculty of Psychology), and Dr. Zahleh Afshar (Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences). These academic leaders addressed key achievements, ongoing challenges, and proposed academic plans aimed at enhancing the university’s educational and research capacity.
Additional insights were shared by Dr. Taghavi (Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences) and Dr. Atiqullah Soltani (Dean of the Faculty of Political Science), who reported on activities within their respective faculties.
Mr. Shams Zardasht, Head of the Chancellor’s Office, also participated in the session and contributed to organizational matters.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Farhad Arianfar expressed appreciation for the collective efforts of the university leadership and staff. He credited the recent achievements to the dedication, unity, and professionalism of the entire team, and called for continued cooperation to elevate the university’s academic standing nationally and internationally.
