Le 9 décembre 2025 – L’Université RAO a célébré son troisième anniversaire avec une cérémonie spéciale sur le campus Condorcet à Paris, en République française. Fondée en 2022 par un groupe d’universitaires afghans, l’université vise à offrir un enseignement supérieur en ligne et un accès équitable à l’éducation, en particulier pour les femmes afghanes confrontées à des restrictions dans l’accès à l’éducation.
La cérémonie a été inaugurée sous la direction de la Professeure Laurianne Sève, Directrice de la DAFA, Directrice de l’IFA, DGM/DDC/ESR, avec un discours d’ouverture de Fabrice Etienne, Chargé d’Affaires par intérim pour l’Afghanistan.
Ensuite, Farhad Arianfar, Président de l’université, accompagné de personnalités internationales et locales éminentes, dont Richard Bennett, Rapporteur spécial des Nations Unies sur les droits de l’homme en Afghanistan, Dr Abdul Mutalib Hamed, Président du Conseil fondateur, et Jean-Noël Baléo, Directeur régional de l’AUF pour le Moyen-Orient, a pris la parole. Les intervenants ont salué la mission de l’université consistant à renforcer l’enseignement en ligne et à soutenir les femmes afghanes, et ont reconnu l’importance de la présence et des activités de l’Université RAO.
Lors d’autres sessions du programme, Eric Lavertu, Président d’AFRANE, a abordé les défis de l’éducation en Afghanistan, tandis que Dounya Hallaq, Présidente du Parlement des migrants en France, a parlé du rôle des femmes afghanes dans les processus de changement social et éducatif. Par ailleurs, Pascale Laborier, Professeure à l’Université Paris Nanterre, a présenté le programme Universities in Exile (UXIL) et expliqué son fonctionnement.
Les participants à cet événement ont exprimé leur reconnaissance pour les efforts de l’Université RAO et ont réaffirmé leur soutien à ses initiatives éducatives et à son rôle dans l’autonomisation des étudiants afghans, en particulier des femmes. Cet événement a constitué une étape importante pour promouvoir l’enseignement supérieur et l’inclusion sociale, tout en mettant en lumière les réalisations de l’Université et sa vision pour les années à venir.
Roshan Afghanistan Online University (RAO University) Celebrates Its Third Anniversary with International Dignitaries
December 9, 2025 – RAO University marked its third anniversary with a special ceremony held at the Condorcet Campus in Paris, France. Founded in 2022 by a group of Afghan academics, the university aims to provide online higher education and equitable access to learning, particularly for Afghan women facing restrictions in accessing education.
The event was inaugurated under the leadership of Professor Laurianne Sève, Director of DAFA, Director of IFA, DGM/DDC/ESR, with an opening address by Fabrice Etienne, Acting Chargé d’Affaires for Afghanistan.
Following this, Farhad Arianfar, President of RAO University, together with prominent international and local figures—including Richard Bennett, UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Afghanistan; Dr. Abdul Mutalib Hamed, Chairman of the Founding Board; and Jean-Noël Baléo, Regional Director of AUF Middle East—delivered speeches. The speakers emphasized the university’s mission to strengthen online education and support Afghan women, recognizing the importance of RAO University’s presence and activities.
Other segments of the program featured Eric Lavertu, President of AFRANE, discussing the challenges of education in Afghanistan, while Dounya Hallaq, President of the Migrant Parliament in France, addressed the role of Afghan women in social and educational transformation. Additionally, Pascale Laborier, Professor at Paris Nanterre University, introduced the Universities in Exile (UXIL) program and explained its operations.
